What to Expect

What to Expect During Your Lip
blush Appointment

01

Consultation

The Practioner and Client will go over the consent form, lipstick-color matching, & any questions you may have regarding the procedure.

02

Lip Mapping

The Practioner will begin pre-drawing the lips that appeals best to your features and skin. The client will be shown and drawing and can choose to make any adjustments. Both the Practioner & client must agree on the shape prior to tattooing.

03

Outline

The Practioner will outline your lips without numbing due to the fact that we cannot ruin the shape. The outline takes roughly 5 minutes.

04

Numbing

After the outline, The Practioner will use a topical numbing cream for roughly 20-30 minutes prior to tattooing.

05

Tattoo/Shading

The Practioner will tattoo both of your lips in entirety one time. We will then apply a secondary numbing, which only works on “broken”/open-skin. This numbing is stronger & only takes 3-5 minutes to activate. The Practioner will then tattoo both lips in entirety a second time. This process takes 1-1.5 hours.

Lip Blush Healing Process

01

Day1/ Right After

The lips will be very sore and tender. Clients can take Ibuprofen, Tylenol, Advil, etc. immediately after the procedure (before the numbing wears off) to alleviate the pain.

02

Day 2

The lips will be more swollen. The color will oxidize and get darker.

03

Day 3 - 4

The swelling will begin to go down. The lips will feel dry/tight and begin peeling. Be sure to keep applying A&D ointment via dabbing to alleviate discomfort and avoid picking scabs.

04

Day 5 - 7

As flaking occurs, the lips will appear very light and frosty. This is temporary as the lips are still healing.

05

Day 8 - 14

The lips should finish peeling by or between this time.

06

Day 14 - 42

Over the next several weeks, the lip color will slowly reappear until it fully blooms at 4-6 weeks.

Lip Neutralization Healing Process

04

Day 5 - 7

As flaking occurs, the lips will appear lighter and darkness will seem more even.

05

Day 8 - 14

The lips should finish peeling by or between this time.

06

Week 2 - 12

The darker parts of your lips will begin to appear darker than they were naturally. This is temporary and will lighten up by 8-12 weeks depending on the severity of your darkness. NOTE: Every client heals differently. We cannot guarantee how long you will stay dark before you lighten up. During this phase, you can wear lipstick to cover it up.
